Worship is the highest calling of the Christian, the preeminent activity of those who have received, through Jesus, the mercy and grace of God. The Scriptures plainly teach that we have been created for God's glory and called to a life of worship, not only here in this life, but throughout eternity. Understanding that worship plays such an important part in the life of the believer and in the Kingdom economy of God, Bay Area Presbyterian offers two Sunday morning services of worship at 8:30 and 11:00 am.
On months with 5 Sundays, the 5th Sunday
has only one combined service at 11am to bring the congregation
together and allow for fellowship opportunities.The first service, more traditional in feel, contains a blend of classic, rich hymnody, along with one or two choice contemporary songs. At this service our wonderful chancel choir assists those worshipping to lift their voices and hearts in praise to God.
The second service, which begins at 11 am, is also a blended service, though it has a slightly more contemporary feel, both with respect to song selection as well as instrumentation. Recognizing that worship should be edifying and understandable to the gathered worshippers, our primary goal in both of our services is to give glory and honor to the Lord. Bay Area Presbyterian also gives a primary place to the Word of God in worship. We understand that conversion as well as spiritual growth occurs as the Word of God is proclaimed, explained, and applied. As a result, on any given Sunday you will find great emphasis given to reading and teaching the Scripture in worship.
